Just Say Yes

Just Say Yes

It’s never too late.

Not so long ago, the answer I always gave my family was “no.”

“No, I’m too busy.”
“No, we can’t afford it.”
“No, not right now.”

I told myself I was doing the right thing working hard, building a future, providing. But somewhere along the way, I missed too many moments. Too many laughs. Too many memories.

Until something in me snapped.

And I made a decision:

I didn’t want to miss it all.

So now, I say yes.

I say yes to concerts.
Yes to vacations.
Yes to driving my daughter to school, even when it means rearranging my day. Yes to going for dinner with my beautiful wife.
Yes to time real time with the people I love most.

The truth is: I used to believe saying yes meant spending money or being irresponsible. But now I know better.

Saying yes means being present.
It means choosing now over someday.
It means remembering that time doesn’t stand still and neither do the people we love.

I used to think they just wanted me to work hard. To always have money. To always be providing.

But what they really wanted what they needed was me.

Not distracted.
Not burned out.
Not buried in to-do lists.

They wanted me present, connected, in the moment.

I can’t go back and relive the moments I missed. But I can own it. And I can choose differently now.

It’s not easy.
It takes intention.
It takes work.
It takes unlearning a lot of what we were taught about what it means to be “a good man.”

But I’m here to tell you:

It’s never too late to say yes.

And if you’re still reading this, maybe this is your moment to start
